Who's Your Mama?

Okay, so nobody has sex to make a baby. A guy donates his sperm, a woman donates her egg, a doctor combines the two and makes the baby and inserts it into a totally different woman who carries the baby to birth and gives the baby away to another completely different woman who will raise the baby. Got it? I hope so.

Read the article and give your opinion. Who should be in charge in this situation? Who should have the legal right for these twins? Think about your answer before you post your comment. Give a good reason why you picked who you picked. Remember...the egg donor and the sperm donor probably don't want anything to do with the kid...they just donated their stuff to help people out and probably earn some extra cash.

I just bought what?!?!

Read the article and tell me who you blame and why. I picked this article because it talks about how states have different laws to prevent something like this happening and ways to protect consumers. Since we are learning about local governments right now I thought it would be a good fit.

My take? I think you better be sure you know what you're agreeing to before you sign anything. A store/dealership/whatever cannot hold you hostage. This woman should have just said, "please give me my car back, I am leaving."

Party Crashers

Read the following article and tell me your opinion if the couple should be punished. If you think they should be, explain what the punishment should be and why. If you don't think they should be punished, give an explanation why.

Lets hear your thoughts and I will post mine at the end of the comments section.

If I were Principal for a day...

Tell me something you'd like to see different at Laurel High School. It can be pretty much anything but avoid the obvious Laurel student desires of no class, ipods allowed, and of course, no uniforms. Make sure you give an explanation about why you chose what you did.

One thing I'd like to see at Laurel High School is more accountability. Seems to me we have some teachers and students who just don't want to be there. Why can't we give the students who have no desire to be there a diploma and tell them to enjoy the real world. Seems like some teachers like to do the least amount possible to continue to collect their paycheck. When some teachers are not prepared, it makes the jobs of others harder. I guess if some teachers cannot be professional, they should at least pretend for 7.5 hours a day.

The reality is that you'll grow up one day. One day you will be making all the tough decisions, so you might as well start learning to make the correct ones now. It would be nice if there could be just one day at our high school where everyone just does the right thing because it's the right thing to do.

So lets hear what you have to say.

What if it was you?

Sometimes I do not understand society. Why would someone stand idle and watch while someone else is brutally raped? I never understood the concept of “no snitching.” Did it ever occur to the people who believe in this mantra that if they actually reported the people who commit these horrible crimes that they’d be in prison and wouldn’t be able to harm the “snitchers?” Do we really want to live in a society where those who strong arm and intimidate have the power?

I want to know what YOU think. Read the article below and post your comment.
